1. Rehabilitating Wells with Handpumps in Malawi Serving Approximately 300 People
Malawi ranks 169 out of 191 countries and territories on the 2021 Human Development Index. Approximately 35% of the rural population continues to lack access to clean drinking water.

Trundl’s Contribution
One of the notable projects undertaken by Trundl and charity: water involves the rehabilitation of a well with a serving approximately 300 people. Hand pumps are utilized when groundwater is accessible through mechanical or manual drilling methods. In some cases, existing water points require repairs that surpass the financial or technical capabilities of the local government and community. Rehabilitating a well can be nearly as expensive as constructing a new one, as it may involve heavy machinery, replacement of hardware and concrete, or the reformation of Water Point Committees. Nonetheless, well rehabilitation proves to be an efficient solution, as it eliminates the need for drilling a new well. 2) Bringing Piped Water to Every Household in the Barabanki and Shravasti Districts of Uttar Pradesh, India Serving Approximately 198 People
As per reports, out of India’s 1.3 billion people, 91 million people (6% of the population) lack access to safe water, and 746 million people (54%) lack access to safely managed household sanitation facilities.

Trundl’s Contribution
Our latest project, in partnership with charity: water, will bring piped water to households in the Barabanki and Shravasti Districts of Uttar Pradesh, India, benefiting around 198 people directly. This project supports the government’s ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ initiative, which aims to provide piped water access to every household in the country. By building interconnected piped water systems connected to community tap stands or individual household connections, Trundl and charity: water will ensure efficient water distribution using gravity, electricity, or solar power. The project’s design is tailored to local geography, water availability, and resources, including the rehabilitation of existing infrastructure.
3. Fundraising Campaign
Continuing our commitment to contributing a portion of resources and efforts to help fund sustainable water projects around the world, Trundl ran a fundraising campaign for clean water. We also encouraged and engaged our employees, clients, and stakeholders in raising awareness and funds for this noble cause.
